Club and fixtures secretaries
What each club has to send the county, what it costs, and the dates for the 2026/27 season.
Send everything to the county secretary at ccbacountysecretary@gmail.com. Scan documents rather than photographing them, because photos are hard to read and print.
For a query about fixtures, eligibility, grading or panels, you can also phone the county secretary on 086 608 4798 after 3:30pm. Scoresheets go to the same number on WhatsApp.
The forms
The county secretary emails the forms to club secretaries at the start of the season, and they're all on the forms page as a PDF and an Excel file. Only the official forms are accepted.
- Club details form. Contacts for the club secretary, fixtures secretary and juvenile secretary, the hall and club nights. Every club must give a mobile number and an email address, so the club can be contacted at any time. It also asks whether the club would host a match that needs a neutral venue, such as a league final, free of charge.
- Affiliation lists. One for adult members and one for juveniles.
- Team nomination form. One for each league team. A mixed panel has at most 6 men and 6 ladies, and a men's or ladies' panel at most 8 players. Give each player's full name, whether they're on the adult or juvenile affiliation list, their Badminton Ireland number and grade, and the captain's name and phone number. If a player is waiting on a new Badminton Ireland number, write NEW.
- Summary sheet. How many teams the club is entering in each league and grade, and the fees due. A club can't play in any competition until its summary sheet is in.
- Member proposal form. For each new player who needs a grade. Players graded in Cork before don't need one.
A request for a player to play down a grade or to play for two clubs is made on the team nomination form, with a letter attached giving the reason. Neither is granted automatically.
Amended panels are accepted up to Sunday 15 November 2026, with the date of the change written at the top. After that, use the change of panel form. The leagues page has the panel rules.
Fees
| What | Fee |
|---|---|
| Mixed team, including the Championship Cup and Handicap Cup | €110 |
| Men's or ladies' team, including the Handicap Cup | €80 |
| Adult affiliation, for adults named on a team panel | €27 |
| Juvenile affiliation, for juveniles named on a team panel | €18 |
| Associate affiliation, for members not named on a team panel | €12 |
| Juvenile affiliation, for juveniles playing juvenile events only | €10 |
Pay by bank transfer or by cheque. For the bank details, email the county secretary. Make cheques out to Cork County Badminton Association and post them to Wendy O'Mahony, Phale, Ballineen, Co. Cork.
All payments must reach the association by 30 November 2026. Change of panel fees, €5 a change, are invoiced at the end of the season.
Sport 80 and Badminton Ireland numbers
Each player should have one Sport 80 account and one Badminton Ireland number. Before asking for a new number, check whether the player already has one from another club or county.
Sport 80 is case sensitive. Spell names exactly as they are on the affiliation list and the grading list, apostrophes included.
Affiliations have to be right before Badminton Ireland's deadline in January. After that, nothing can be changed, and a player who isn't properly affiliated can miss out on inter-league and inter-county finals. The county secretary holds an evening before the deadline where clubs can check their members' affiliations and grades.
For fixtures secretaries
The league's fixtures and dates are on the league fixtures site. The county has suggested a date for every fixture. Each club's fixtures secretary agrees the dates with the other clubs there, or agrees them by phone and emails them to fixtures@corkbadminton.ie.
Clubs don't have to use the suggested dates. Where they don't, the home club offers the visiting club two dates, on different days of the week if its hall bookings allow. Once a date is agreed, it can only be changed if both teams agree, and every postponement needs the county secretary's permission.
All fixtures scheduled before Christmas must be played by Tuesday 22 December 2026, unless the county secretary has agreed otherwise in advance. Last season a backlog built up in January and February, which squeezed the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
Please pass the notes for team captains on to every captain in the club. The winning captain sends in the scoresheet, or the home captain if the match is a draw. The leagues page sets out what a scoresheet must include, the 48-hour deadline, and the charges for walkovers.
